Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1998-2000 Term

Inauguration of the Government of F BiH was verified on December 12, 1998 in the session of the House of Representatives of Parliament of the Federation of BiH. During that session the following appointments were made: the Prime Minister - Edhem BICAKCIC, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance - Dragan COVIC, Deputy Minister of Finance - Mehmed ALIJAGIC, Minister of Defense - Miroslav PRCE, Deputy Minister of Defense - Sakib MAHMULJIN, Minister of Internal Affairs - Mehmed ZILIC, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Jozo LEUTAR, Minister of Justice - Ignjac DODIK, Deputy Minister of Justice - Šahbaz DZIHANOVIC, Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry- Mirsad SALKIC, Deputy Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry- Dragan VUKADINOVIC, Minister of Traffic and Communications - Besim MEHMEDIC, Deputy Minister of Traffic and Communications - Neven ?UKIC, Minister of Social Policy, Refugees and Displaced Persons Affairs- Sulejman GARIB, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Refugees and Displaced Persons - Davor CORDAS, Minister of Health - Bozo LJUBIC, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports- Fahrudin RIZVANBEGOVIC, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports- Šimun MUSA, Minister of Trade - Branko IVKOVIC, Minister of Physical Planning - Ramiz MEHMEDAGIC, Minister of Agriculture, Water-Management and Forestry- Ahmed SMAJIC, Ministers without portfolio Nedeljko DESPOTOVIC and Nikola ANTUNOVIC. Positions of Deputies of Ministers of Trade, Health and Physical Planning remained vacant.

Chronology of Complements and Changes in the Government After Verification in the Parliament

1. On April 12, 1999 Deputy Ministers were appointed
· Mirsada Curcic-Selimovic instead of Amir Zukic in the Ministry of Trade
· Josip Tomic instead of Pero Jukic in the Ministry of energy, mining and industry
· dr. Faris Gavrankapetanovic instead of dr. Ibrahim Ramic in the Ministry of Health

2. On September 15, 1999 the following appointments were made:
· Barisa Colak as the Minister of Justice instead of Ignjacije Dodik, who was relieved of duty upon his own request, in order to go to another duty
· Ivan Bacak as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs instead of murdered Jozo Leutar

3. On June 6, 2000 the following appointments were made:
· Fuad Purisevic as the Minsiter for Issues of Veterans and Disabled from the War for Freedom
· Marko Arapovic, as the Deputy Minsiter for Issues of Veterans and Disabled from the War for Freedom
· Zeljko Obradovic as the Deputy Minister of Physical Planning and Environment (the first time anyone was appointed to this position)
· Augustin Mestrovic, MA, as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry (the first time anyone was appointed to this position)
· dr. Ivo Miro Jovic as the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, instead of dr. Simuna Muse
· Pavo Boban as the Deputy Minister of Traffic and Communications instead of Neven Djukic

3. On September 5, 2000 the following appointment were made:
- dr Faruk Mekic, as the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry

4. On July 27, 2000

Dr Ahmed Smajic with Decision of the High Representative dismissed of the duty of Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water-Management and Forestry

5. On September 5, 2000

Dr Faruk Mekic appointed to duty of Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water-Management and Forestry

6. On January 10, 2001

Edhem Bičakčić resigned from his duty of the Prime Minister of the Federation BiH in order to assume the office of Director General in the Public Utility "Elektroprivreda BiH".
Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federation BiH the authorities of the Prime Minister are assumed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation BiH and Minister of Finance in the Government of the Federation BiH Dr. Dragan Čović.
